Inside the schloß

.

Here are a few shots from the tour, starting from the pictures on the bottom and going up.  We start in the ballroom, with the Gods painted on the ceiling. To go in we had to wear special slippers to protect the floor, the kids had a great time sliding around the ballroom with these shoes. Then there is the special guest room, the kids are looking at the toilet that after use was
slid back in the wall for the servants to clean. Next, the game-gambling room with a table with holes for each player to hold cards and another with edges up to keep the dice from going on the floor. The green room is the Chinese room, or what one was imagined to look like in those days. The painting shows the kids with powder and wigs looking adult-like. Next is an original desk used, not all pieces in here are original as   the last owner (before being bought by the state) sold possessions off one by one to try and keep up the cost of running the place. Some original pieces were bought back and others are copies of originals. The next room was the baron's room and the view from this.  The roll-shaped pillow on the bed is because in those days they did not sleep flat, but in a position in between sitting and laying down, because they left their faces powdered and sometimes their wigs on. Next is a statue in the hallway. They were getting r eady for a concert so that follows in the middle courtyard garden. Then a view standing on the inside courtyard. Finally, looking over Memmelsdorf and the famous apple tree that grows 84 types of apples. I guess they grafted them in, I think it is a record holder.
